One of the most important features of identity of each nation and of every individual is their language and script.
Stone in its durability, quality and aesthetics occupies a prominent place in the history of art and architecture.
Reflecting on these facts and merging them into one, Mr. Ante Matić, an artist from Zagreb, presents before you a unique project – a vision to open, according to his idea, in your city a Museum of Arabic script- letters in the open space.
This magnificent monument to Arabic script is envisioned as 28 stone monoliths erected on the sand or green grass, lined up in a circle 3.5 meters in height, 1.5 meters in length, 1 meter wide, weighing 10 tons with a total length of 168 meters. On each stone monolith the artist- sculptor would carve an Arabic letter – a symbol of Arab identity.
Each stone monolith would be illuminated at night.
The space in the center of the circle is ideal for organizing exhibitions of paintings and sculptures of world famous Arab artists, but also for staging various cultural and tourist events, all with the imposing backdrop of 28 stone monoliths carved with Arabic lettering.
Museum of Arabic script - letters in the open will attract numerous tourists from around the world to your country.
The mission of this work of art is to give deserved recognition to the Arabic alphabet, and to inspire every tourist or visitor seeing the magnificent stone monoliths in which the artist had carved Arabic letters, to learn the importance of the Arabic script throughout history and to learn the meaning of each letter (eg. using a QR code).
This impressive architectural work of art would be unique in the world and would certainly become a cultural and tourist attraction that would attract many tourists from around the world to your country and thus contributing to the promotion of Arab culture and script in the world.
